STOPAQ® system: Wet-applied
The STOPAQ® system for splash zones and below the water line consists of a 3-layer system, comprising:
First Layer
STOPAQ® WSH Wrappingband is a corrosion preventing wrap material for protection of steel structures in the splash zone and under submerged conditions. Adheres extremely well to wet surfaces. Resistant to marine conditions, fast and easy application, environmentally friendly, and resistant to temperatures up to 70°C.
Second Layer
STOPAQ® PVC Outerwrap is a UV resistant PVC tape used for mechanical and indentation protection of the STOPAQ® WSH Wrappingband. Very well suited for immersed applications, it is also chemically resistant to marine environments to temperatures up to 90°C. STOPAQ® HSPE and HSPEX Outerwrap is a high strength PE wrap with exceptional mechanical and UV resistance, to be applied alternatively or in conjunction to STOPAQ® PVC Outerwrap.
Third Layer
STOPAQ® Outerglass Shield (OGS) is a moisture curing composite wrap material consisting of a glass-fibre fabric impregnated with a solvent-free polyurethane resin. This material is added for locations that require high impact and mechanical protection, such as splash zones.
