WSH Paste
STOPAQ® Paste WSH is a corrosion preventing mouldable paste to fill gaps and voids prior to application of STOPAQ® Wrappingband WSH on wet, submerged and dry substrates. It is based on a compound containing non-crystalline, low-viscosity, non-crosslinked, (fully amorphous) pure homopolymer Polyisobutene. The compound does not cure and is unable to build up internal stress.
Offshore risers and jetty-piles: For filling of voids and gaps on risers and steel jetty-pile structures situated in the splash zone, both above and below the waterline.
Submerged and condensing pipelines: For filling of voids and gaps on pipelines that are fully submerged or wetted by condensing water.
WSH Wrappingband
STOPAQ® Wrappingband WSH is a corrosion preventing wrap material that is especially designed for application on wet and submerged tubular objects, and it can also be applied on dry substrates.
STOPAQ® Wrappingband WSH is based on a compound containing non-crystalline, low-viscosity, non-crosslinked, (fully amorphous) pure homopolymer PolyIsoButene. It is viscous at the indicated operating temperatures and, due to its liquid nature, flows into all irregularities of the substrate. The compound does not cure and is unable to build up internal stress.
STOPAQ® Wrappingband WSH is applied as an elementary part of STOPAQ® Coating Systems that require application of one of more mechanical protective layers like STOPAQ® Outerwrap and STOPAQ® Outerglass Shield. This improves impact and indentation resistance of the coating system and ensures adequate performance of the corrosion preventing properties.
Offshore and submerged tubular objects: For protection against external corrosion of risers and steel jetty-pile structures situated in the splash zone, both above and below the waterline.
Submerged pipelines: For protection against external corrosion of submerged carbon steel pipelines.
Underwater pipe coating repair: For pipe coating repair, coating rehabilitation, and protection against external corrosion of submerged pipeline coating defects.
Coating repair of condensing pipelines: For protection against external corrosion of steel pipelines with a surface temperature below dewpoint.
PVC Outerwrap
STOPAQ® Outerwrap PVC is a flexible tape that is used for the mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems for buried and submerged pipelines that further comprise STOPAQ® Wrappingband CZ or STOPAQ® Wrappingband CZH. It is made of a flexible UV-resistant polyvinyl chloride backing and a modified pressure sensitive rubber resin adhesive. It has good adhesion to the outer surface of the STOPAQ® Wrappingband as well as to its own backing. It also provides good resistance to impacts and indentations, and is also resistant to chemicals like alkalis and acids.
As part of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coatings applied on pipelines and vessels, it is applied as the mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems for buried and submerged pipelines that further comprise STOPAQ® Wrappingband CZ or STOPAQ® Wrappingband CZH.
Pipes and vessels: As part of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coatings applied on pipelines and vessels.
Field joints: As part of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coatings applied on girth-weld joints of pipeline structures.
Pipe fittings: As part of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coatings applied on pipe fittings like elbows, bends, tees, reducers and flanges.
Outerglass shield
STOPAQ® Outerglass Shield is a composite wrap material consisting of a glass-fibre fabric impregnated with a solvent free moisture curing polyurethane resin.
STOPAQ® Outerglass Shield is used as additional mechanical protection on STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems comprising Wrappingband and Outerwrap materials. In order to obtain the desired resistance to mechanical loads, multiple layers can be applied.
Outerglass Shield will cure by reaction with moisture or water to form a rigid composite shell with a smooth surface. It provides additional resistance to the underlying coating against mechanical forces like impact, indentation, shear and abrasion, and the material has good resistance to chemicals and weathering. The material may discolour when it is exposed to sunlight or heat. A UV reflective topcoat can be applied to prevent discoloration.
Soil-to-air transitions of pipelines: Rigid mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems on risers against soil shear, mechanical impacts and indentations.
Splash zone coatings: As part of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems on offshore risers and jetty-piles providing resistance to impact form e.g. waves and floating debris.
Field joint coatings: Rigid mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems on pipeline girth welds against soil shear, mechanical impact and indentation.
Pipe saddles: Rigid mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems on pipe saddles against indentation and abrasion by movement of the pipeline.
Pipelines and fittings: Rigid mechanical protection of STOPAQ® corrosion preventative coating systems on pipeline sections, bends, tees, valves and flanges against soil shear, mechanical impact and indentation.
